Trash is for Tossers + The Simply Co.

The zero-waste lifestyle blogger Lauren Singer has built a brand!

The Simply Co., is now offering its first product! Addressing our post-industrial concerns are the catalyst for Singer (of Trash is for Tossers blog) and The Simply Co. brand; with the mantra of co-creating simple, healthy, useful products for our collective expression on this, yet still green, planet.
There are many zeitgeist touchstones at play here in this call to zero waste and eco-friendly lifestyle choices and the blogger's many followers are a bell weather for a growing community of like-minded consumers, with a collective interest in the urban homesteading
movement; repleat with bees, chickens and rooftop gardens, anti-"BIG" (big-Agra, big-box store, big pharma, big-chemical corp.s),  an appreciation of the artisan and the craftsman, sourcing, "quality" and the irony that the best of the better good is perhaps the simplest expression of the purest ingredients, packaging--or sans-package--an eco-awareness, and Boho chic have blossomed and fruited at the farmer's market all things local, organic and industrial filler free!
Here is a bit of her story! A folk story many are finding we rhyme with.

Why are there so many chemicals in everything?

When did this become okay?

Are they even necessary?

Founder Lauren Singer lives a Zero Waste lifestyle and hasn’t sent any trash to a landfill since 2012 which she documents through her blog, Trash is for Tossers. Since its inception, it has helped people across the globe to learn how to live without waste.
About a year into blogging, she noticed a trend.
Many of her readers were writing to her saying that they loved the idea of her toxic free and sustainable cleaning products, but they didn’t have the time to make them themselves. They wanted to know what cleaning products they could buy in stores that were as sustainable as the ones they could make at home.
So Lauren searched high and low. She began reading the label of every cleaning product and researching all of their properties, and then she learned a few things that changed her life forever:
There are over 85,000 industrial chemicals out there and a majority of them are not even tested for safety and on top of that cleaning product manufacturers are not legally required to list their ingredients on their packaging.
Lauren knew that was not okay. Consumers, unquestionably, have a right to know what is in the products they are using in their homes and on their bodies, so she decided to do something about it. She quit her job as Sustainability Manager at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, launched a Kickstarter campaign, and The Simply Co. was born.
Here at The Simply Co. we strive to make the most sustainable cleaning products everAll of our ingredients will ALWAYS be listed on our packaging. On top of that, with every single decision we make we will consider the health of our homes, our bodies, and the environment.
Why is The Simply Co. different from any other company? Because we question everything. We are not just going to make a “less bad” product with fewer toxic chemicals or kind of sustainable packaging, we are going to make products that are truly good.
